I was born and grew up in a little rural town in the heart of the English countryside, I like to think of myself as quite quintessentially British -complete with specs and pinafore. My childhood was spent exploring the countryside around me, climbing trees, and trying to create a dolls house from twigs and moss, just like the one in "Faeries".

Currently, I live in a converted warehouse in Bethnal Green, London, a 5 minute walk from Brick Lane (and, consequently, Beyond Retro, Rokit, the Laden Showroom and Absolute Vintage), with my lovely boyfriend of almost two years.
I love the huge windows and lime washed wooden floors :-).

I get around on my 1940's ladies' bicycle, which I bought from a really lovely elderly couple, who told me it'd been on their farm for 50 years - complete with wicker basket and book rack - or the lovely tube, depending. I make my living designing, making and selling original vintage inspired clothing and lingerie, which I sell online. Please pm me if you wish to inquire about a commission!

I adore all forms of artistic expression, and my work is usually very diverse, ranging from textiles, costuming, felting, mixed media, painting, calligraphy, to collage.
I believe that much work is defined by the materials a person chooses to gather and put into their work, and my collection of various papers, objects, fabrics and notions is a highly personalized expression of myself. Any work that comes of this (and my many and varied methods and tendencies - namely wax and black ink and pen on paper projects, and free machine embroidery and sequins on fabric projects) is highly personal and intimate.

There's quite a clear division between my artistic work and commercial work; the former mainly makes use of commercially bought supplies, the later being much more unique.
I love finding boutiques, charity shops (NOT "thrift stores", I'm not American), antiques markets, auctions and vintage shops to buy my supplies from. One of my favorites is the boxes of antiques and vintage photographs and papers in my Nan's barn.

I love the rain, trees, the countryside, being in love, making people happy, and individuality. I don't like hatred, bigotry, racism, self-pity, drama, or copying. I like making diaries out of books, and making my own clothes.

I love, and have always loved, corsetry. I like Seamed stockings, Agent Provocateur, Coco de Mer, artisan crafts, LUSH, and Organic living.
Growing herbs in your garden, and hanging them up in bunches.
I think that everyone should make the most of what they have, and be happy to be alive. Life is short.
